Question Bin cage chewing

I have has my Syrian hamster Sasha for 6 weeks now. We originally had her in a too small cage, so we bought a bin cage. My husband was able to cut holes to attach the tubes from our original cage to the bin. Once that happened, I was unable to tame her, as she was always hiding in the tubes until everyone was gone, she wouldn't even leave them to pee. So I decided to take the tubes away so I could tame and litter train. She is doing great for both taming and litter training, but she has taken to chewing and digging at the blocked off tube holes. Should it get another bin cage for her while she does not have the tubes? Or should I find a glass cage for her? Once she is tame, I could put her back into the bin with tubes. Thanks!

I would try putting her in another bin cage if you can, those blocked off bits are probably just irresistible for a ham, she must think they're made for chewing! Make sure she has plenty of other things to chew to distract her from chewing the plastic too, antos dog chews (whimzees) usually work well as does the ocassional piece of bonio dog biscuit.
I'd wouldn't bother putting tubes back in later tbh, they cause more problems than they're worth generally & there are plenty of other toys or just cardboard boxes & tubes that can be just as much fun for them.

I don`t use tubes in my cage now either as I found they got pee`d in and my Russian dwarf seemed to be getting to big to use them safely. Would you be able to find a cage like a Zoozone or a Ferplast type perspex tank?

Larger glass tanks can be good for Syrian hamsters that bar chew or you can`t find a better alternative. The holes that you made in the Bin may well now become a focus for your hamster to chew at and possibly escape, so yes it would be a good idea to search for a better alternative and something that fits both her and your needs. x
