Question How to clean coloured wood toys?

As you can see, I was wondering how to clean wooden toys that are coloured. I have seen YouTube videos about cleaning & sterilizing natural wood toys for hamsters, but not coloured ones, and plastic or ceramic. How do people with multiple hamsters switch wood toys between the hamster?

Default Re: How to clean coloured wood toys?

Hi, I'm not expert on cleaning things but I'd like to try to help. My mom cleans for a living and she said with wood to just use dish soap and hot water. Don't let the wood soak in the water but do make sure it is thoroughly wet. After you finish cleaning it put it in a well circulated room and make sure it dries all the way before putting it back with your hammie. It shouldn't mess with neither the wood nor the coloring. The main thing with wood is to make sure it is fully dried before giving it back to them because they probably don't have enough air flow in the cage to keep it from rotting. Hope this helps and let me know how it goes!!

From what I know you can not clean coloured wooden toys as the colour will leak. As for plastic and ceramic toys you can easily clean them under warm water with pet safe disinfectant, hope this helps, but it is not reccomended to steralize coloured wood as the colour might leak. .
