Yes the second cage is an Imac Fantasy. When I got Willow I got the Imac fantasy for her, it had 2 levels and then the closed in roof level made a 3rd level and it was the biggest cage in the pet shop! I ordered her a further 2 levels making 5 in total. Willow was happy in it, she showed no signs of upset or stress, I thought by buying all those extra levels for her that she had lots of room.......
And then I joined HC and learnt about hamsters and cages, (Willow was my first ever hamster). I soon got Ebony from a breeder and bought her the Alexander cage from Zooplus and that was when I finally realised that although Willow was a very happy contented little hamster Ebonys cage really was much better suited to their needs and so I got Willow a new cage too That Imac fantasy cost me a fortune, the initial price for the 3 tier version was £75, the further 2 levels cost me another £50, that's £125 in total, and now it just sits in my loft collecting dust

Its the standard duna. They get a lot of out of cage time. I've had Lunar since December and Cindy since January, recently had to replace Lunar's cage because I broke his other one. I have no income at all and most of my bf's money goes on the bills, food, health insurance and things for the house, I'm still looking for work and looking for ways to make some money. (Being English and not speaking a word of Dutch, my job options are rather low) Like Points2shop but I'm still in the process of getting my account unblocked.

As for getting a detolf there is literally not enough space for one of those, the wood we have I'm going to use to make a two cage thing. Bottom will be 80x50x40 with a platform inside and a mesh cage door, the top one will be 25x50x40 and be connected to Cindy's cage giving her the full 80cm that way. Or just do both the same depending on what happens, this size also keeps in mind our small spaces and is the minium required.

We'll be getting all the wood out the loft on the weekend and getting started on our DIY project, maybe we mess it up or maybe we manage to build something to be proud of. Or maybe I get annoyed at the whole thing and phone my dad for money to get a detolf, then figure out where we can put it if at all.

Sounds like a good project making your cages. The only thing is the 80 x 50 needs to be one floor space. Two smaller cages doesn't give the continuous floor area they need. Could you maybe build two like the first one, at 80 x 50. Selling one of the current cages might bring in an extra £15 or £20 towards materials.

Hi, I made my bin cage for £20 all together with a bin from b&q and some mesh. It is definitely a good option, but there are also sites like Freecycle that give away lots of things, I've seen cages on there a few times, I also picked up a decent sized cage in a charity shop for £5 with lots of toys and hideouts, good luck and keep an eye out

Hi PicoloChelsea! We already made bin cages for our hamsters some time ago, Yummy used to have two until we made changes then she kept escaping. I'll post this link here, so you can take a look at the bin cages and keep up with Yummy's antics Yummy and Bin cages
