I have one of these on order! So excited to get it, Rupert is currently in a Mini Duna so he's going to love the extra space!

That cage looks similar to Almond's Tamburino. As for the Ikea Knuff, you should be able to order it online. But, since you have a lot of cardboard, go for it! Big boxes make great houses too! And when they get torn, chewed or wet, you can just replace them with more. It leaves you lots of time to either make or buy other things you want. A plain old shoe box, with a door cut out and turned upside down makes a wonderful house for hammies. I have one for the playpen. Why buy when this was available?

DrKMcK is wise in the way of ham-city building! cardboard will be fine. A shoebox sounds brilliant. Or loo rolls (the tubes, i mean) for legs with a cardboard top.

It's a great cage, at first glance I'd really recommend it!
The ikea platform is really great but as you say DrKMcK using cardboard is just as good haha
Gonna need to put my thinking cap on lol

Thanks! I will do.

Could I ask a couple of quick questions...?

Rupert has a sputnik house and a hanging bridge toy... would these be able to attach to the roof of the Maxi Duna or is it too high?? Dont want him to get hurt if he fell or even not be able to reach the toys at all lol.

Really good to see pics of it as only seen shop pics online until now. They seem really hard to get hold of. My pet store is ordering it in for me but it's not something they usually stock.

Well I had a Sputnik in this Duna Multy and it attached perfectly and it was practically touching the substrate on the bottom so I doubt he would hurt himself if he fell. My issue was that if there was a nest in the Sputnik it would fall out when you opened the door haha

That's so good that your local pet shop is ordering it in, I've never seen it in any shops actually

Oh I'm obviously not using enough substrate In his Mini Duna the base of the sputnik is about 3/4 inches from the floor but it's half over the shelf and then a toy under it so if he did jump/fall, he wouldn't go straight to the floor.

I just can't wait to get it and get him settled properly. I feel awful having him in the Mini Duna. I was told it was fine for Syrians at the pet shop but was told on here that it wasn't and intially I planned to just have him in it until he's fully grown but he's only 12 weeks old and it's clear he's already outgrown it. Poor little man! Just hope he likes the extra space in the Maxi Duna. Sure he will

Have you got two water bottles attached in both the holes?? Or what have you blocked the other one up with if not??

Sorry again for millions of questions. New hammy owner and having already done LOADS wrong in the two weeks I've had him, I really want to start over and do everything right from now on, starting with the bigger cage!
