Snoozy Stuff?????
Hi everyone. well after I got my hamster heaven yesterday and set it up, I had a look at the free items that were sent with it. It came with something called snoozy stuff... it says its a warm and cosy blanket for your hamster, which satisfies natural nesting instincts and fluffs up to 6 times its size.
It looks like its the stuff that you should avoid but says its non toxic and safe for all animals on the back.... and I know that petsathome got into abbot of hot water with cotton bedding and no longer sell it so when unseen this in was a bit perplexed?. What do you think?

Re: Snoozy Stuff?????
does it look like whats inside a teddy bear or pillow? it kind of just looks like strips of fabric,, but if youre unsure i would honestly just toss it. you can use toilet paper for free so youre not missing out. better safe than sorry

Re: Snoozy Stuff?????
I looked at that in store and decided not to risk it. All fluffy cotton bedding says it's safe, they mean it's not toxic but I guess they don't take the REAL RISKS into account. Maybe it is different but I still wouldn't use it personally.
And Taylor is right, love live loo roll!

And if they accidentally swallow it, it will dissolve and not cause them much harm.. i dont think that will, just by the looks of it

Rosewood Naturals Play 'n' Bedding Pods 2 Pack | Pets At Home
Bruce had cotton wool bedding but I've just recently taken it off of him after reading stories about how it can kill them.... mind he is a year old and its all I've used so he was really annoyed with me and keeps giving me dirty looks when I try and get him to come out. So I'm worried he's not warm enough ... I know he is but still !!! What do U think of the rosewood bedding?

I wouldn't use it either tbh. I did look at it and it does say "natural" as if that makes it automatically safe but cotton isn't exactly synthetic! The line about short easily breakable fibres is in the description which is something but I would still be wary.

Re: Snoozy Stuff?????
I am sooooo glad you asked about it! I really wish they would stop selling the wool bedding. As for the pods, It looks pretty much like cotton. I wouldn't use it myself. i use paper based bedding and toilet tissue for nesting. My guys love Kaytee Clean and Cozy & Boxo.

I think the asda shades toilet paper is great, it's so soft and thick. You'll need to give him quite a lot.

Re: Snoozy Stuff?????
I really wish they'd stop selling dangerous bedding or nesting material & calling it safe too, so many people are mislead by it.
Just stick to a good deep layer of substrate & plenty of toilet tissue & you can't go wrong, I'm sure Bruce will soon adjust to the change & probably enjoy shredding & pouching tissue to make a nest once he gets the hang of it!

I'm pretty sure the rosewood kapok tree thing is safe, it's not the same as fluffy bedding. Hamster cannot get tangled in it and it's digestible.
