Default where did you get your wire mesh for making a bin cage?

Im really interested in making a large bin cage for hammy to be and was wondering where people got the wire mesh to make windows/top etc. i have gotten wire mesh in the past from garden centres but i dont think its very strong? and it costs and arm and a leg to buy the thicker type online when i dont actually need that much

thanks for any help xxx

It's called hardware cloth and can be found at hardware stores and garden centers.

thanks, but do you not find it a bit flimsy? not as strong as mesh used for a proper hamster cage?

When making my bin cage I used the wire from an old rat cage a friend no longer wanted, but I no another forum member found a good website for mesh, here's the link to the topic:

Your not going to get cage thick mesh for cheap, The mesh from wilkinsons works fine when its attatched to its frame.

If you dont have a old cage to take apart & use then maybe one of those hamster playpens with the wire pannels would work, ive used them to add doors onto cages before.
