Robo bin cage

On wilko's web site, there is a 62ltr storage container. The size is 79.5cm x 39.8cm x 25,5cm high. Is this big enough for a Robo. It is only £10. I am actually thinking of having a bin cage, but I dont want one that is tall as I dont want to put a shelf in and have to drill the sides. Cutting out for mesh and drilling for the nuts and bolts is the way I am thinking, but I would like everything on one level, so height is not needed. I ead somewhere that although robo's can and do climb, it is floor space they need. The bin (storage container) is larger than the cage he is in now. I have a 2 tiered bin cage made out of these for one of my Syrians. They're fab! I would definitely say one would be big enough for a robo. But if you find your fluff needs more space you could always add another one to it

Thanks. Adding other cages ontop is easy to do. It only takes a couple of holes and a tube or ramp. I am going to get one when I can. I dont know if the local wilkos will have one or if I have to go to the large one in town. My local one has bins but not all sizes all the time.

That's the same bin that my hybrid Luna lived in very happily!

I looked at that Wilko bin before settling on the SAMLA. The only downside of it was not being tall enough to accommodate humfry's wheel (he's Syrian & got a 28cm wheel), so it should be fine for your hammy.

It looks great but it could be a bit low, my robo is a climber and a jumper, so if you have high toys and big holes at the top, its not going to work out well for you...
I would recomend meshing all four sides, not fully, just enough to get circualtion and then not having any holes at the top, or if you want them, only tiny holes that she cant fit through

I was wondering that about the height and the wheel. In the cage at the mo is a wheel that I also made a stand for it. The bin is 10" high and the wheel is 7" high on the stand. It will fit. I also have a Habitrail OVO suite with the wheel in which is a larger wheel. That stands 8.5" off the floor. I could use that wheel but I dont really like the long holes in the centre of the running part as when I tried Screech in it, she had to run along one edge of the wheel because her back foot kept going through the holes in it. SHe got the hang of it but she has a silent spinner in her own cage. The wheel out of the cage the Robo is in would do until I get another silent spinner.

That wheel with holes sounds dangerous. Even if she does seem to have "got the hang of it" one slip & your hammy could break a leg so I would either get rid of it or tape cardboard over the holes to seal them off.

Both mine have flying saucers so the height isn't a problem for me to get a large wheel in
