Unhappy Silent spinner or Flying saucer?

Okay so i got my hamster the silent spinner about 4 months ago. His old p@h wheel was unbearable! But his silent spinner keeps making kind of jolting sounds? It also squeeks sometimes and its hard for me to sleep. Is the silent spinner any quieter? Have you guys got both or had experiences with either or know of people who have. If you have any info it would really help.

I have both silent spinners and flying saucers and I love them both. I keep my hamsters in my bedroom so I don't want rattling or anything so I use silent spinners and they are absolutely fantastic, I don't how I could cope without them! I use flying saucers(Medium and Large, the small one is too small) for playtime. I don't use them in the cages as they take up a lot of floor space in the cage, especially the mahoosive large one, which is the one you need for a Syrian. I would definitely recommend both though! x

I really prefer silent spinners. A lot of hamsters, IMHO, find a hard time using the silent spinners. I have one, and one of of my dwarfs figured it out, and Java only figured out how to use it by flinging herself across the cage. :/

Okay thank you! have you noticed any difference in noise between the two? I'll probably just go ahead and get the silent spinner because it would be a nice mix for him. He manages to push the flying saucer around his cage against things so its even louder when he runs! He just wants my attention when im trying to sleep

If you're worried about noise, I'd go spinner. When both hams used it, they made it rattle as they ran.

My hamsters went through a faze when they decided to start moving the Silent Spinners and run as fast as they could so they rattled. So I got some duct tape and taped it down for about 2 weeks and it has not happened since. You have cover it with a ton of substrate though and do it whilst they are not in the cage or they might see what you are doing and chew it!
I think the Flying Saucers do tend to have a little rattle after a while compared to the Silent Spinner! x

I've got both and have had them in use for months (both syrian and dwarf sized) and don't have any problems with either at the moment (although a few dwarf ones used to be nightmares). From everything I've heard the flying saucer tends to break or develop problems more often/sooner than the silent spinners

I had a flying saucer for a short while, and it squeaked pretty badly, and I couldn't find any spot to oil it =( drove me nuts.

No experience with the silent spinner though. I sprung for a Wodent Wheel and it's completely silent

Thank you. Dinky had no problem figuring it out and runs on it fine all night long. It would be a nice mix up though with silent spinner.
