Default Silent spinner v wodent wheel

I got a wodent wheel for Alv, which is fab. Anyhow, Ive bought a silent spinner for my Robos which Im getting next week and thought Id stick it in Alvins cage in the meantime. He loves it!!! I thought it would be to small for him when I ordered it but its quite big, so Im gonna get another one for the robos. I think I prefer the silent spinners!!! x

Silent Spinners are good for Dwarfs, but are often too small for larger show Syrians. We find that the larger hams have to arch their backs when on Silent Spinners, which means they are too small for them. We think Wodent Wheels are a good size, and even the largest Syrian we have had could run comfortably on one. If your hamster howevever seems happy with a Spinner and isn't arching his back then perhaps it would be a good idea to keep him on this. We find that some hamsters don't like the Wodent Wheel-type wheel with the entrance holes whilst others won't use the Spinner-type!

I bought a silent spinner for Jasper when I first got him, as he was a small baby I figured it would do and then I would get the wodent wheel later on. However the silent spinner is actually a really good size for him, and he doesn't have to arch his back. As he likes it, I'm sticking with it.

To be honest, he doesn't really use his wheel often though. He's always in his ball!

If the hamster fits then the silent spinner is a good wheel and many like the open design better than the enclosed wodent wheel. We have had some problems with the spinners though when the yellow attachment bit cracks and the wheel then wont run. It eventually snaps off. One did this after only a few weeks but they replaced it free of charge.

I've had both and both have failed with Biscuit.

She had a Silent Spinner when she was young, but managed to break it so it wouldn't work anymore. I ordered a Wodent Wheel and we've got through about three wheel covers and she's caught herself on the chewed bits several times so I gave up with that one and now she has a Comfort Wheel.
