The rim dimensions on the box you have and the underbed box in the same line are exactly the same. You could cut the bottom out of the underbed box, flip it upside down, and bolt it to the rim of the larger box. You'd have to come up with your own lid but it would give you enough room for the tall wheel. On the other hand, you may find that your hammy prefers the flying saucer and will run more on that so it may be the better choice for you anyway and you won't need the extra height!

I honestly don't think I really needed to bolt 2 together, so I didn't bother, but good idea! Lol, I mostly didn't want to go any more over budget since I went to Canadian tire expecting I'd buy a $10 bin, not a $21, so I would still have money to buy Cheeto some toys at petland on my way back.

I know what you mean. Why that particular bin is double the price of similarly sized bins is beyond me!

For my syrian we introduced him to his new home a few times during cuddle time, giving him treats while he had a smell around for a bit and played with some toys, then we eventually moved him after a couple of times doing that. We'd put him in the new home after a bit of ball time, letting him leave his ball and explore, we put water in there too for him. We found it worked quite well and he settled in easily within 24 hours. We did leave him for those 24 hours but he was pining for attention during that time , but we didn't want a case of wet tail! That method has worked twice now, the second time we only got to let him to a pre-lim exploration once but he still seemed fine with it. He didn't show signs of stress either time really.
