Default Bin cage no lid

Hello!

My littles bros hamster Bibbles is in a critter trail right now. I felt so bad im going to make him a bin cage. The problem is, I can't get the mesh + tools right now. Do you think he would be able to climb out if I took the lid off for air???

What kind of hamster is Bibbles (I love that name...it tickles me)? If Bibbles is a dwarf, how high is the bin?

He's a syrian (and thanks!) I was thinking of doing a 105 qt bin. There won't be anything for him to climb up the sides on. I saw someone else do it with a glass tank, but I wasn't sure about a bin cage.

Also, do you think it would provide enough air if I poked little holes in the roof with a knife??

If you are going to get the mesh within 2 weeks, Bibbles will really be okay in the critter trail for now. I have one for Ted E. Bear, although it's only a small part of Ted E's very large setup, so I know how big the cage is for Bibbles. But it won't really hurt him to wait and is definitely more secure than a bin would be without a lid. You might consider just cutting a smaller hole in the lid than you would make if you were ready to mesh it, and just not put anything at all that Bibbles could climb on to get out. Although I think he'd be unhappy with that because he wouldn't have things to climb on, and he couldn't see out. Personally, I'd stick with what he has until you can change it for him.

Ok, I got a 105 qt. I convinced my dad to buy the mesh tomorrow. But do you know if there is any other way to attach the mesh without having to poke holes?? I don't have any of the tools for that.
