Sand box too heavy?
After seeing my Syrian was really liking bathing in the sand I got him a varnished wooden box (40 x 30cm) so he has a larger sand bath and also so I could put his wheel in his sand bath since he urinates on his wheel and in his bath so it's all in one place and therefore easier to clean. For a few weeks, I noticed him sleeping in several areas-possibly connected by burrows I'm not 100% sure-one of which was under this sand bath. I'm just worried that the sand bath is too heavy for him, it's been quite a while and he seems fine but the sandbox does squish the bedding underneath it so do you think it's safe for my hamster?

Re: Sand box too heavy?
Buy some wooden dowels to build it legs, it’s unlikely to squish him but its better to be safe.
