imac fantasy?
After looking through the pictures of the cages on a different forum, I am rethinking my want of the imac fantasy. All of the cages seem long and flat, with a lot of floor space but not a lot of height. Is it a bad idea to have a cage that stacks upward instead of having one very large floor? I have a Syrian.

Re: imac fantasy?
Floorspace tends to be better And if you had an imac fantasy it would need at least a couple of extensions which would make it quite expensive when you could get larger cages for less

Re: imac fantasy?
I have one with two extensions on it at the moment. My Winter white lives in it for now as I am making a DIY cage and just got two robo hamsters so she had to move from her tank.
I in no way recommend them for syrian hamsters. There is just not enough room.
My syrian lived in it when I first got her and it was ok while she was small but the second they get a bit bigger the floor space is just not enough no matter how high you stack them.
Syrians will end up chewing the bars in an imac fantasy so a bigger floor space is needed.
Hope this helped xx

Re: imac fantasy?
As well as the points illustrated above, you can not fit an upright wheel big enough for a Syrian. You would need a whole level dedicated to a 12" flying saucer, which isn't ideal.

Re: imac fantasy?
I had Fudge in one with 2 extensions for a couple of months when I first got her and she very quickly outgrew it and became unhappy. She's in an Alaska cage now and absolutely adores it

Re: imac fantasy?
Imac's are really aimed at Dwarf hammies as the tubes are bar spaceing is very small, some Syrian can really struggle with the tubes. The doors are quite small and this makes it difficult to reach your hammie inside, with tame hammies that walk straight onto your hand this isn't a problem. Also you would need all least 2 exstentions for any hamster really, these can be really expensive though one can pick them up cheaper second hand or a car boot sales. Some hamsters like the differnet tubes and leavels however other really don't. I personally wouldn't get a Imac for a Syrian Hammie when there are so many other cage out there.
Have you thought about a Alexander, Alaska, Hamster Heaven or Idea Detolf (on my birthday list )

I have looked at a lot of these cages but since I'm in the U.S. it's pretty hard to find them. Even online a lot of times they don't ship them here. I may just make a bigger bin cage for him since I can't seem to find any good cages. I have been trying to look at some that are just plain wire cages for guinea pigs or hedgehogs, etc. but they never say what the bar spacing is
I have looked at yours too bonkers4hamsters, I really liked the hamster heaven but my gosh that thing is expensive.
