I believe the minimum size is 70x40 cm. And for any additional ham you should add another 10cm squared. I could be wrong so, CMIIW

Firstly, are these Chinese housed together? Are they male or female? While pet shops still sell them in pairs, it's generally best to treat female Chinese as solitary. I have heard of male pairs succeeding, but again most people will advise you keep them solitary too.

Secondly, I am assuming you are in the US? I wouldn't advise going smaller than a 20 gallon long tank (30x12 inches, about 75x30 cm) for a single dwarf or Chinese, and personally would rather use something with a bit more floorspace, like a 3ft tank (36x12 inches, about 90x30 cm). If you can get ahold of one in the Pecto or Petsmart (I can't remember which it is!) $-per-gallon sale, a 30 or 40 gallon breeder (36x18 inches, either 12 or 16 inches tall) makes an awesome hamster habitat for any species
