Default Ways of helping your hamster keep warm?

Hi everyone,

I was just wondering if any of you had any good ideas of helping our hamsters keep warm while in winter.

I am quite worried of my 3 chinese hammies as the room i keep them in gets quite cold.

So far i have made sure there cage isnt to far away from the heating for when i can put it on and gave them plently of bedding which is the Editable Vegetable Parchment Pet Bedding, im not conviced that its enough to keep them warm specially as its getting more into winter now and they all like to sleep seperate the odd time.

Hope someone can help

Ours just get a ton of bedding and live in the room we spend most of our time in. If it gets cold we heat the room so we know they're ok

There are heat mats you can get for under cages if you're worried though

I don't know where abouts your from but there's pet safe bedding that's made from blue and white cloth stuff and it's shredded. That would keep them quite warm. I generally used shredded paper and another paper based bedding so Fudge always has two types of bedding in with her

Snuggle safe are on offer at zooplus now..I use fitch bedding and tissue paper. I also wrap a blanket round the cage to keep in any warmth.
Not good for bars as they can pull it in but tank style/plastic cages you can.

You can put a towel or fleece blanket folded up under your cage and even bring it up around the bottom edges and that will help offer a little insulation. If the cage sits against a wall that is an exterior wall-move it away from that or at least attach a towel or small blanket to that side of the cage for another layer of insulation.
And don't forget-they do have a fur coat and can retain a lot of body heat when snuggled up under the bedding.

Yep, fleece blanket under the cage and lots of bedding. I think the bin cages are a bit warmer too.

Thanks for everyones advice.. Much appreciated!

Ive shredded some toilet paper up and put it in there bed along with aload more bedding, it seems to be doing the job as they look like they love it.

Thanks again.
