Just a heads-up that Petco's Dollar-a-gallon sale is going on right now (through January), $40 for a 40gal breeder tank is a great deal.

I'm so mad they don't make the Ware Natural anymore. I perfer aquariums but as a 14 year old girl, the Ware natural was so economic of an upgrade from a 10 gallon tank. Now's there is nothing to compete with those crittertrail cages from around the same price.

If you have the knowledge and money, Tanks are the best cages for USA residents but a lot of the people buying hamsters are kids-teenagers who will do anything to get their parent's to say yes. And mentioning a suitable cage that is upwards of $80 doesn't sound that good to parents....

They still sell the Ware Natural Hamster cage at Petco.com BUT its over 70 bucks after shipping!!! So hardly worth it. At that price you can get a FOP Tamburino Natura from Abbaseed.com.

What a lot of wonderful research!! Great job.
Only one thing...I originally bought the Ware Natural Hamster cage and it is way too small for a Syrian. I ended up building my own cage. Ware also sells a 'critter' cage, but the problem is that the shelf is WAY up high and hammies could fall down there very easily.
All of the other cages look great, but I would just like to warn that the Ware cage is not as big as it looks.
Again, thanks, and I hope I don't come across as too critical!

Wow - these are some great hamster cages that you all suggested! It's sad that it is so difficult to find suitable hamster cages in the USA. We have a bin cage for our pair of robos, and we managed to come across a zoozone cage here for our other robo that lives alone - Love it! My two syrian hamsters each have this cage here: Rat Cage » All Living Things® Luxury Rat Pet Home | PetSmart

It is tall and I know some hamster owners don't like having their hamsters in tall cages, but we have lots of hammocks, tunnels, and ledges to make it safer for them. Both of my hamsters are quite good climbers too and love being able to climb up to the different levels. The base of the cage is nice and roomy too which is a nice plus! The cage is on the small side for rats, but I think it's perfect for syrian hamsters. I wouldn't recommend it for dwarf hamsters though because they could squeeze through the bars on this cage. Also - considering the amount of space this cage can provide for your hammy I think the price is really good!

I hope this was helpful to some of you! xx

You can also get a Zoozone 2 for around 100$. Both in the US and Canada.

Pet Playground has fixed their shipping quote to the U.S. and you can now buy Zoozone 1 and Zoozone 2 from them for around $30 shipping.

Here's another seller for Zoozone 1 that should come out a bit cheaper than Pet Playground, especially if you buy 3 and save on shipping.
