Default Help!!

I really didn't anticipate for Alfred to be this big, and I have recently discovered that his wheel is far too small for him. He still runs on it, but his back arches and he looks clumsy D:

I was all ready to go and buy one of the much bigger wheels, but I have no money. My sister is going to Uni so my family are incredibly poor at the moment. My parents don't seem to think that it's a very urgent issue, so they're not bothered about making me wait until money is available which might not be until October.

Are there any homemade toys or activities I can offer in the mean time!? Seeing him run is so upsetting to me and it's just making me feel ashamed of myself.

He's only very active at night so I can't put him in his ball for a couple of hours either.

Thankyou! X

Do you have anything you could sell to raise some money? Ebay is brilliant for making some quick cash.

Maybe you could attach a toilet roll tube to his cage, like a suspension so he can climb thru it.. a hanging tube kinda thing.

I'd take the wheel out. Its better for a hamster to go without temporarily than to risk hurting its back running on a too-small wheel.

Lots of substrate (encourage digging), maybe scatter feed the food, and remember that October is only a few weeks away.

I have been trying to sell some of my stuff for about two months now, nothing seems to go D:

I would but that is literally all he does at night. He has a toilet roll tube in his cage but doesn't show much interest. I'm scared that if I take it away, he'll get bored and stressed. A few weeks can be a long time D: I probably won't get anything till mid October at the earliest. Is there anything I can make for him?

Get some cardboard boxes, stick them together and cut random holes in them.
Makes like a mini assault course/climbing thingy for hams. Mine love them.

hi

you could put out a 'wanted' post in the marketplace section and on websites such as gumtree and preloved.

you might find someone who can donate a wheel to you...

I've been trying to sell a load of books and games etc. D:

My dad has got me a new bin to make Alfred's new cage, but says the wheel will still take a while to get. Alfred still uses his but I've bought him some other wooden toys in the mean time which he seems to adore!

What size wheel do you have and what size are you after? I have a couple of spares but I don't know if they're big enough x
