Default Opinions on Imac Fantasy?

Looking around at different sorts of cages, I wondered what people's opinions are on the Imac Fantasy, and if anyone here has one? (With pictures if possible)

I think the imac fantasy is a cage that suits some and not others.
Hamsters that like climbing and tunnels will enjoy this cage, its also useful that it can be extended upwards.

However, the small doors will make it difficult to get more nervous hamsters out, and its porbably not the easiest cage to keep clean. I think the maximum wheel size that can be put in is 8", so larger syrians that need bigger wheels than this won;t be comfortable in this cage.

Finally, I don't feel the multiple levels would be suitable for pairs of dwarfs x

here is my set up for my imacs

the two layers cover as much space as a barney as seen here

here is nancy inside to get the idea of size for a large hamster

I like these cages as you can see, one of the few problems is you have to keep the top level clean as if they store food and wee near it it can effect the food, but i use baby wipes to just mop it up and no ptoblem. the doors are strong but the top doors can be twisted by hams, so a little tape to keep them in place. the tubes are not suitable for bigger hamsters, as you can see by the full cage pic, they dont have any ladder, the love climbing up the bars to get to the top, they really enjoy doing this and its safer then a tube.

i got mine from
Imac Fantasy Deluxe Hamster Cage 58x38x38cm - Berriewood Pet Supplies
they all arrived safe and cost only £5 to take 5 cages, so if you plan to extend it it works out good to get it all at once

the wheel in the photo is a 30 cm flying saucer safe for even the biggest syrians, but standard upright wheels you cant fit in over 8 inches.

no problem!!
i will hopefully extend mine soon that site curiers it to you so its less likely to be broken then from other sites. I would recomend using the saucer too if your syrians are not lil ones, even if most other toys are on the extension, its good for them
np glad to be able to help out

Ive got an imac fantasy with one extension. I have a 33cm flying saucer in it and I have the tubes for the hamster to go between levels. The syrian in the cage is quite small at 120g and he manages really well, hes a tiny dot of a syrian. Id like to extend it with one more level but I am in no rush

I`m with debs to be honest, although I know others love them and use them fine. I kept a russian dwarf male in one having bought it off ebay. The cage, not the hamster! It was only a single section with the roof dome, but Scooby had big problems descending down the bendy tube and I would watch him hover at the top, wondering how he was going to tackle the tube! His back legs splayed out behind him and I wasn`t comfortable with that, so I put him back into his Ferplast Duna (I would use a Zoozone 1 now though if I had another russian dwarf).

I think if the tube is replaced with a long wooden log ladder, it would make a huge difference though. It could be adapted quite easily.
