Talking Time I Tell You :P

Hello, Well i am so right now! as I have a spare bin cage. which i will be connecting to the peggy metro instead of the zz2. both of them takes up the whole of my desk, so it should be around 83cm? but im not sure :/ i took pics the bin cage looks so small! but its actually quite big you see but i will get some pics up soon. I will be connecting them up hopefully tomorrow or thursday as I have been busy with loads of homework but that doesnt stop HC so he will have a descent sized cage now! and also i might get him a trixie wheel for his birthday (June) but hes fine with the Karlie atm, and i am also removing the sand bath and will just be using it for playtime, he uses it as a toilet and it is smelling so I dont want it in his cage tbh. I will get the pics upload in an hour, as my USB is being stupid :/

Just a brief heads up - We've found that having the space over multiple levels/areas isn't the same as having it in one big space for the ham.
Scamp treats her hamster heaven really differently to the rest of her cage, when even without it she had 11000 square cm of space. Adding the 4000 of open space has really changed how she behaves in the cage and such, and its now one of her favourite places in the cage.

Do you have the measurements for the bin? They'd be handy for working out if it adds up to enough space for Bubbles.

The Peggy Metro is 50 by 40 cm according to the internet, so if the bin is a bit smaller then it still won't add up to the 4000 square cm minimum space really.
Its an improvement, but yeah, probably still not as big as would be ideal I'm afraid.

and also i could add a square from the super pod. to make a little bigger.

50 by 40cm is what I read... So I don't get what you mean there. I was assuming its wider than tall but I may be wrong...
Either way, twice 40 by 50, is 80 by 50 total. The bin is smaller so its less.
Plus loads of small modules really don't add up to a single big one. Like Scamps rotastak adds to her total cage space, but without the bin (about 6000 alone) it didn't matter how much she had because it wasn't enough. Two big-ish modules do add up to a good cage, but multiple small ones don't.

You might be ok, but if the bin is less than 40 by 50 at the base then its still below the minimum size. If its smaller than the peggy then it is less, and therefore is less than ideal.

I didnt order it :/ I was going to, but then my mother said about it will look so big and will take up too much room and in the end i just completely gave up she just doesnt understand i have showed Scamp's cage to her and i have shown what the RSPCA sais and she just wont listen to me! but she will be shocked when i have my own house! with all the huge cages, I am so sad that i cant have the zz2, but this will be a good improvement ofcourse.

Er... Surely you could argue that this cage would take up nearly as much space and have considerably less?
Or maybe ask to get the hamster heaven/savic ruffy/ferplast mary e.t.c as an 80cm by 50cm cage that would be smaller than the two together but actually be big enough for Bubbles? And it'd look neater which might help convince her.

And sadly, a good improvement isn't as good as a big enough cage. Hadn't you got permission for a big cage before planning to order it? I thought your Dad had even agreed to help mesh the ZZ2?

Alternative good idea! Buy a big storage box and claim its for his carefresh/food e.t.c, make sure it has really tall sides and then convieniently let Bubbles live in it instead after a few days
