Is a medium zoozone 2 cage suitable for a male Syrian hamster?

thanks i have heard of those. I've seen some diy's on youtube but they are a bit pricey so i ended up going with a 30 gallon tank that i found at a garage sale it was a great deal and after cleaning it up and what not i think my little hammy milo seems to like it.

I would like to have two dwarf hamsters (I haven't decided on the species but they will most likely be winter whites of the same gender) and I was told through youtube that having a cage with levels is bad when two hamsters are caged together?
The cage I have has two levels and I would like to know if I need to replace it.

hamsters need of surface at least 80x50 cm. Levels dont count

You would need to get a different cage.

I heard/read multi level cages or modular cages (Habitrail, Rotostack etc) can cause territorial fights. Also for any hamsters living in pairs you need at least 2 of everything eg 2 wheels, water bottles etc. They also require a bigger cage. Even two kept together from the same litter can start fighting and have to be separated.

I have two dwarfs in a rosewood abode. It's not particularly big but it has three levels and they have plenty of room for toys at the bottom and still space to run around. Is that ok?

I also have one dwarf in a pets at home large wire cage which has another level and tubes. P@H say this is suitable for him but I'm not entirely sure I can trust them.

I don't have a lot of space at the moment as I'm in uni accommodation but in September I'll be moving to a bigger room so is it wise to upgrade their cage? If I have the space should I do it anyway to give them space to run and play.

The US minimum is now 450 square inches.I am a firm believer,however,in the UK minimum being the more suitable minimum,and for this reason as well as the US minimum a 20 gallon breeder is no longer an acceptable size to house any hamster species.Modular cages simply don't count,due to the fact that hamsters are terrestrial by nature and would not benefit in any way from leveled cages in terms of actual living space.Definitely do not trust pet stores to know what is acceptable and what is not acceptable,and even some vets are wrong.Your best bet to finding the right cage is to just get yourself acquainted with various minimum sizes but also figuring out the absolute largest space you can offer in your home.

I would upgrade all the cages. They are all too small. Check the minimum cage sizes. I think its 70/75cm by 40cm for a single dwarf 80cm by 50cm for a pair of dwarfs. Levels in in dwarf cages can lead to fighting.

I would suggest 80 cm by 50 cm for any species.No levels for pairs,no additions for pairs,etc.It's honestly best to always aim for a cage larger than the minimum,as it is the least we can do when putting an animal that would have miles of space in the wild into a cage.

I originally bought a Rosewood Pico XL for my new Syrian Hamster because I wasn't sure what I should be using and based my purchase off the Amazon reviews. I now realise that this was not the best choice based on reading from here, other forums and some vloggers and recently bought a Mamble 100... please tell me I did the right thing?! Im completely new to the pet world, only knowing my best friends various hamsters over the years which has two smaller cages joined together by tubes... was this the right move for a 10 week old Syrian?
