However i have 2 dogs and a cat so i will need something with holes to go over the top.
Any ideas what i could do.
If i do make a bin cage, what would be a good size?
Answer wanted soon going shopping tomoz at 11 with mum and it will be her christmas present along with a new toy

ikea do a box which would be a good size for a bin cage:
SAMLA Box - transparent, 79x57x42 cm/130 l - IKEA

and then just put the mesh in the lid rather than on the sides so your pets cant put their claws through the mesh to get to the hamster

B&Q sell big sheets (I'd say roughly 150cmx130cm) for £6.50ish

Or you can use the panels of a hamster playpen that is how I made mine and it meant I didn't need to use wirecutters.

Using the panels is such a clever idea! I haven't even thought of that before
Alternatively you can just drill holes in. Just make sure there is enough

This looks similar to my bin cage, except I have air holes in the top and a large area on the side for the bars... in retrospect I would have put it on the top instead tbh, as Hjalmar has taken to chewing the bars. I might switch to mesh so he doesn't damage his teeth.

Iv got a bin cage but Squeak uses it as a burrowing box and it's half filled with carefresh. The mesh to make it was from Wicks, but could she chew through it? The mesh cost about £3
