They are lovely photos - I just love to see dwarfies rolling around in chinchilla sand, they seem so ecstatic dont they?

They do use them quite a lot Faye. They never potty in them but after handling they always go straight in and roll around as if to wash our scent away! You have to be sure to get the sand not dust though and we keep them in the cage all the time. The syrians only roll in the sand when fresh then they use it as a potty which is good (though Sonni does store her food in there too )

My Syrian Luna, uses hers a lot, I actually bought it as a loo. She wees in one corner and rolls around the rest.

Aww, that's so cute! I'm going to see if I can catch Sparrow and Turner in their sandbaths for pictures - they use them a lot and seem to really enjoy them.
