The Evolution of Your Hamster's Cages
Thought this would be an interesting thread
So post the first ever cage and setup your hamster was in, and any further cages they moved into, before their newest setup, and the cage they are in now
It may sound confusing, so ill post mine first
Pip was first in the Mini Duna (His first setup)
He then moved into a gabber rex, but back then i didn't cram cages, so he was too nervous
Then back into the mini duna:
Then the Imac Bingo which he loves
Fudge was in the cambridge for a week
Then the Criceti 15
Mabel's First Zoo-zone Setup
Then the Duna Multy
(To be Continued in next post)

Re: The Evolution of Your Hamster's Cages
i loveee this thread!!! such a good idea.
i orignally brought this cage *embarssed face* i was one of those owners that stupidly didnt do much research i saw a picture of this cage with 4 hamsters in it and assumed it was big enough ( now i know they were clearly photoshoped in lool) anyway i never actually ever put kevin in this i knew it was way to small when it arrived in post.
( the wheel is so u can see how tiny the cage is)
so i decided to add that cage to a bin cage, and this is kevins first home:
(oven grill as mesh LOOL)
then i took out the bottom of orange cage and just left the top (that soon fell apart loool) by this point i hated this cage and i planned on making a better bin cage.
and now kevins home today
i always think about upgrading this but he really enjoys it so im not sure, i nearly brought a hamster heaven bt got outbid at last min hehe, maybe one day he will get upgrade.

Re: The Evolution of Your Hamster's Cages
Fun thread
Leela's had the most changes so far! (by one)
She and Dora started out in a tiny cage when they were babies.
I got them a WARE Natural cage two weeks later and they lived in it for a while.
Then I found a ZooZone1 on eBay and promptly purchased it
Leela had to be separated after Dora made the decision to be a Loner Ham (Leela's bin
After two weeks, I put her back into the ZZ1 and subsequently into a large aquarium tank. That only lasted about a week, because Dora said "remember when I told you I wanted to be a Loner Ham? BITE!!!"
Now each lives in her own ZooZone1. This is Leela's condo.

Re: The Evolution of Your Hamster's Cages
Snickers started off in the HH:
Then moved into the Bingo when she was ill:
Oscar started off in the Mini Duna:
Then got upgraded to the Bingo when Snickers passed:
Cooper has always lived in the HH:
And Bailey has always lived in the Mini Duna:
I do not plan to upgrade Cooper or Bailey, they're happy where they are.

Re: The Evolution of Your Hamster's Cages
I'll use Porridge's cages Peggy's cages changed loads, but I didn't photo them all!
He was orginally in a tiny trixie cage at his old home, then they moved him into the savic cambridge.
Then I extended it
And finally he was moved into the imac criceti 16
Bigger wheel
(4 different wheels too )

Re: The Evolution of Your Hamster's Cages
I smartly deleted all my pics of the setups i had ages ago on photobucket.. so i only have pip and pops to show
Right at the beginning, saw the little robabies in pah and didnt have a cage, so as b&q was round the corner, i had to run out to get the bin
with one wheel, i know :/
i changed their bin round a little bit, added a flying saucer.
yay, a pink zoozone! (was saving up for another 6.5'' wheel..)
I played around with the setup for ages..
and now its like this (i regret taking that pic just before their cleanout )

Re: The Evolution of Your Hamster's Cages
This is going to be quite embrassing... My mom and dad surprised me with FINALLY, (after 6 years of begging) getting a hamster.. We purchased the cage of the net, and went to pick it up..we thought it was big enoth at the time.. ok? Heres it is...we made an extra shelf though. The bin cage is what he is currently in. PS: still waiting for Joes new wheel and we never used those tiny stupid ones!
