I got a cheap second hand savic ruffy yesterday thinking of adding a 'roof extension' onto my lone rat boy's cage (he's unsociable with other rats) but it doesn't fit
So I was wondering if it would be any good for the hammy (a dwarf campbell). The bar spacing seems the same as the one he's in.
It's 80cm x 50cm x 38cm

Are those dimensions length x width x height? If so yep it will be fine, I'm sure he'll enjoy the extra space Aslong as the bar spacing isn't any bigger than 1cm all will be fine.

yep they are Bar spacing is definately no more than 1cm too.
It needs a bit of patching up (a little rust on a couple of bars) but once it's ready I'll move him in then
He'll be able to have loads of toys in there now lol!!

How are you gunna connect them? I've seen on rat forums where people like cut holes in the bases and stuff, crazy! is this what you're gunna do? I guess if you got it cheap it doesnt matter if you kill it :P

It can be stressful for a hamster to move cage too much and as he has already been through an ordeal recently and the little man is happy and settled in his current cage I would leave him be. You'll just need to get a new hammy to fill that cage now won't you
