Default I have a cage dilemma :P

Any tips, suggestions, help etc is welcomed

Charlie (syrian) is currently living in a zoozone 2, and Tic, Tac and Toe (campbell dwarfs) are currently living in a bin cage, 70cm x 30cm approx.

Now, I want the dwarfies to have more room. I would love another zoozone 2, but I just don't think it's possible because they take up a lot of room. So I was thinking, I could get an Imac Fantasy and one extension (at first, there's always the option to extend) for Charlie and move the dwarfs into the zoozone 2 - because Charlie would have the various levels he would not be loosing any space, the Imac is about 60cm x 40cm, so if he has the main cage and one extensions, then really isn't that three 60cm x 40cm levels (although the top isn't tall it's still there), therefore he would be gaining space. Also, if the dwarfs ever decide they want to fall out with eachother 2-1, two can stay in the zoozone 2 and one can go back into the bin cage. If they all fall out Charlie can have the zoozone 2 back, I can split the imac into two cages for two dwarfies and then the remaining one can go into the bin cage.

I realise I could get a gabber rex/zoozone 1/similar cage but really they're only 15cm or so wider than the current bin cage, whereas with the new plans if there is ever a fall out everything is sorted.

So do you think this could work? Suggestions please....or even reply telling me how fantastic my idea is and how intelligent I am :P :P

You seem to have thought it all out Jane and you are fantastically intelligent and spoil your hammies rotten It can be quite stressful for a hamster moving cage so it is best to keep it to a minimum if possible as each will have established territory etc in the current cages. Does Charlie already have any levels? If they have never had them they sometimes do not adapt to them and can fall or not use the levels much so consider that. Otherwise you should do what you feel best and move them using the old bedding/toys etc.

charlie would be fine in an imac with an extension, although i'd be tempted to have 2, but the imac is a good deal shorter so it should solve the problem of space. good luck

Thanks guys.

Souffle, no Charlie does not have any levels at the moment (the zz2 has no levels )....I don't see how he would fall down though seeing as they are solid, whole levels.

lau, thanks, yep if I go with it I do want two extensions really but would start with just one I think

Ah, some cages have sort of half way levels that do not overlap so they could fall down the middle. Let us know how the big move goes.

Ahh, I was assuming that people would know what an Imac Fantasy looks like, sorry

This is one with 4 extensions (from another forum)

oh, and a zoozone 2 is a rabbit/piggy cage (but far too small for them really) it's 100cm x 50cm.
