Default Hamster cage addons

I have one Golden Hamster and I just bought a lazy lookout tower thing with tube so my hammy can climb up. He tried it out once but while in the tube he slipped and fell from almost the top. Are these things safe for hamsters? I don't want my pet to fall and break his leg.

If your hammy has already fallen then I would say it is not suitable as they can hurt themselves badly in falls. Is there any way you can adapt it to use it sideways along the floor so he could go through it but not fall down? If not and you feel it is unsafe I would return it to the store and ask for a refund then buy a safer toy. I have seen many hammies hurt through falls so do not leave it with him if he falls through it.

I guess I could if I buy another piece, so I guess I'll do that. Thanks
