Can you hang a bottle upright? Tanks can be troublesome where water bottles are concerned, so an easy way to do this, is to make a wire mesh holder using a garden bird peanut holder. If you buy one of these cheaply, you can use the round wire mesh to house the water bottle and find a way to stand it IN the tank, or secure it by adding some wire clips to the actual wire holder so that it can hang from the tank sides.

It would stand in a corner of your tank also with the bottle inside it. The bottle spout fits through the small square mesh and keeps the bottle upright. You could just make one from plain wire mesh and mould it around your bottle to get the shape and then make hooks to clip it over the sides of the tank?

Give your hamster a couple of small pieces of fresh apple (remove the pips) and cucumber. These help with moisture until the water bottle issue is solved, but do try and have a bottle that works and they are better hung vertically (striaght up and down) rather than tilded or horizontal. Bottles have a vacume so really need to be kept upright to work properly.

Hope this helps.

I use self adhesive velcro for the waterbottle in my tank, was less than a £1 from a Dunelm Mill and i've not had any problems with it. I just stuck two vertical strips on either side of a corner of the tank then stuck 3 rings of it around the bottle and it holds it great.

I third the velcro idea. Cheap, easy and secure.
