Gabber rex cage
I know there have been a few posts about the Criceto Gabber Rex cage, and I know that a few people on here own one or some.
I was just waondering were people got theres from? Or does anyone know of any webstes that sell them?
Also I don't understand the little spring things in the Gabber Lux, what are they and what are they for?

Hi Hana. There is a gabber Rex on ebay right now in the `Hamster` section. I saw it today for £24.99p with added postage. I wanted one for my two roborovskis, but having had to split them up, they did`nt need it in the end so I`m glad I did`nt go to the expense!
Some sites feature this cage, but be wary because I actually ordered one last year and then was e-mailed by the company to say the cage had been discontinued, although I doubt this is the case because they are still available here and there.
The Lux I personally don`t like because it`s smaller than the Rex and to me, not as good a cage. I`d rather go for a Ferplast Duna than a Lux!

I have heard that they have stopped making the rex cages. We have one Luv and Sonni loves it. I don't know what the spring things are either Anyway we took them out in case she caught her feet in them. She loves climbing through the holes where they fit. We also changed the wheel and put a tube in one hole for her. It seems fine for her but she is not a very large Syrian.

oh, I found the cage on ebay now thanks, I've got the money to buy it and everything its just my mum says I have to wait till snowy and smokey have gone to buy one.
I will try and keep persuading her now that they don't make them anymore!
I think I prefer the rex.

I would definately go for the Rex over the Lux. I feel it`s much roomier. Sometimes local pet shops can order them in? My own supplier has one in at the moment and I wanted one for Scooby, but with the hot summer coming up, I`m on the hunt for a barred cage for him because I feel his Duna might contain the heat too much. I run a large fan when it gets unbareably hot, but I feel a barred cage will suit him during the hotter weather anyway!
Hope you manage to get a Rex cage Hana. It would last you for years and they are lovely and spacious. x

I don't think you will find the Duna is too warm for him, As long as the top is open with the wire grill there will be plenty air. Hamsters tend to regulate their nest by the temperature, building shallow open ones with little bedding in the hot weather and covered thick ones in the winter. If you put a tile in he may lie on that to cool but ours seem to ignore them
