Default Scottish Hamster Show 9th September 2006 You Are Invited!

Please keep Saturday 9th September free guys...

HAMSOC will be in Scotland for our second Scottish Hamster Show of 2006 and I so want you all to be there.

Plenty of notice so hopefully we can get to put a few faces to names.

Venue will be the brand new small animal zoo near Polbeth, West Calder. Signposted from Juntion 3 (Livingston) M8 between Glasgow and Edinburgh. Lifts may be available is you have no transport to venue, please just ask.

Five Sisters Zoo Park is the name of the venue. This is abrand new facility and has free parking nad a great value tearoom, as well as a pet shop and loads of cute (and not so cute) animals to see. Entry to the zoo park is via a seperate entrance so you don't need to pay to visit if you don't want to/have time. £4.00 for adults £2.00 for children and OAPS. Entry to the show hall is absolutely free.

Please come along for a look and if you can enter the Pet Hamster Class.

Show schedules available on request. Please tell all your friends and I can send posters and fliers to anyone who thinks they have somewhere they would be seen by some hamster owners, or wannabes...

Any help gratefully received whether you want to donate something for the raffle or organise hamster ball races or oragami.

Hi you should ideally arrive around 11:30am to catch everything - come earlier to help set up if you want and hopefully we will finish around 4pm

I was coming back from Edinburgh this week and stopped at Polbeath to find the zoo, which is at least easy to find. So 11.30am if I want a quiet life..... :-P

What does setting up involve - exactly? Apart from myself do I need to bring anything else? Can you let me know so i can work out when to leave to get there and let my other half know when to expect me home.

I won't be able to be there for the whole day as its the first weekend I have had where I haven't had to work for months and want to spend some time doing nothing.

Thanks :-)

Well hopefully just getting the hamsters on the tables, getting them in from the cars, setting up the display board, cutting up prize cards, laying out chairs, fetching cups of tea and the like nothing too onerous - the zoo staff SHOULD be setting up the tables for us fingers crossed. I hope they are big enough and I can't find any old table clothes, I packed them too well last year

Okay - I can have an all day pass if I want :) yippee.
So what time for setting up. I am about 40 minutes away from Pbeath so shouldn't be a problem.

Can't promise to be there to put away mind.

If that's okay?
