Default Bradford Premier Small Animal Show (NHC) - 20th January 2018

The National Hamster Council will be hosting the Hamster Section of the Bradford Premier Small Animal Show at Doncaster Racecourse on Saturday 20th January.

There will be no pet class at this show and those wishing to enter their hamsters must be members of an NHC affiliated club, however the show is held as part of a larger even with lots to see including sections for Rabbits, Guinea Pigs, Mice, Rats and Gerbils as well as stands from other pet service suppliers.

Tickets to this event are available on the door or by visiting: Book tickets for the `Bradford` Premier Small Animal Show - Bradford Premier Small Animal Show

The Hamster Show Schedule is available at: http://www.thesmallanimalshow.co.uk/...mster_2018.pdf

Please note that some of the class numbers will be different from those used at club shows.

Is anyone from HC planning to attend?

Don't forget that if you would like to enter Saturday's 'Bradford' Premier Small Animal Show then you will need to make sure that your entries are with the show secretary by 9pm tomorrow (Wednesday 17th January).

Please note that there will be no hamster sales at this event and pre-arranged transfers of hamsters MUST be booked in with the show secretary.

That sounds great and not too far from me! Unfortunately can't make this week-end. Is anyone going? Looking forward to hearing about it.

I travelled 'up North' with Vectis Hamstery on the Friday and after a 7 hour drive thanks to the traffic on the M1, I think we were glad to get to the hotel to rest before the busy day ahead of us on the Saturday.

Although Metallica's show team were sadly rather lacking at the show due to the absence of Matthew and Cora, I took Lord Alexander J. Cormes along with four of his brothers for their show debut. At only eight weeks old, they were only just old enough to show so I wasn’t expecting much out of them and they didn’t place but it’s nice to get an idea on their potential from another person. Two of them left to go to their new homes as well so I actually came home with less than I started with.

I also bought a couple of fabric shelves from Cosybedsandburrows, a rat mug and some herby treats for the guinea pigs. There wasn't a huge amount of accessories for hamsters as a lot of it seemed to be aimed at rabbits and guinea pigs but I gather things were better this year than they have been at some of the shows in the past.

Thanks for the great company, Fluffagrams - made the endless tour of Loughborough on Friday pass surprisingly quickly

I had a fun day on Saturday book stewarding for the Syrians, which I haven't done for a while. I only took 5 Chinese to show as I missed the gerbil section deadline due to a flu illness. One duprasi and one Syrian did join the trip up North but didn't come home with me; the doop went to her new home and the Syrian was off on loan. I did manage to come home with a wee addition (another thanks to Fluffagrams )

Three of my five hams placed. Normal Chinese was a strong class with 15 entries. Runes placed 1st and was awarded a Certificate of Merit. Djeli placed 2nd and Brownie placed 4th. Poor Norton and Nijel were unplaced in dom spot and normal Chinese respectively.

Thankfully the journey home was much quicker, although had more snow!
