Bath Show (SHC) - 15th July 2017
The Southern Hamster Club will be hosting their popular Bath show at Claverton Down Community Hall on 15th July 2017
Link to Schedule: https://hamsters-uk.org/media/Schedu...ath%20July.pdf
For those that wish to attend this show via public transport, here is the information you will need:
The nearest train station to the venue will be Bath Spa and Claverton Down is a couple of miles out of the city centre. It is well served by bus and you will need to exit the train station via the City Centre exit and walk along Dorchester Street in the direction of the Bus Station. The bus you will need is the U1 which is operated by FirstBus and stops outside Sainsbury's Local, just opposite the Bus Station. The front of the bus should say 'University of Bath'.
There is also a Taxi rank just outside the train station for those that might prefer to get a taxi.
Is anyone from HC hoping to attend?

Just to let all attendees know that the Bath Carnival will also be taking place on the same day as the show and some city centre road closures may be in place.
The details of the route can be found at: Bath Carnival 2017

The procession itself will take place between 4-6pm but there will be some road closures all day which may cause some buses to be diverted.
I'd forgotten that the carnival took place at this time of year but saw the sign about the road closures when I went to work the other day.

Re: Bath Show (SHC) - 15th July 2017
I had a nice day at the Bath Show where I was Pen Stewarding for the Dwarf Section. Both the Judge and the Book Steward were great fun to work with and as always, I leave having my knowledge and understanding of show standards enriched. This show also means that I'm all signed off for the Pen Stewarding stage of my Dwarf Hamster Judge training.
I took three of the Metallica Chinese and two of them came home with prize cards:
Lilliput's Miss Lilli-Victoria of Metallica
3rd in Normal Chinese
Reserve in Small Hamstery
Matthew C. Nobria, Viscount Metallica
2nd in Normal Chinese
2nd in Small Hamstery
Unfortunately little 'Daniela Krystiana' did not place.
For the first time, The Metallica Piggies joined us and were entered into the pet rabbit and guinea pig class. There were 15 entrants in the class.
Frankie came 4th (Reserve) and Benny came away with a Commended certificate.
Well done to all of our friends that came home with placings.

Re: Bath Show (SHC) - 15th July 2017
I enjoyed my day at Bath too. Two older Syrians went to new homes as did a duprasi, and Kitti the winter white went on loan. I brought back a new duprasi and a Syrian who's on loan until Cardiff.
Rogue and I had a lovely walk around Claverton Down and the hammies had some surprises waiting when we returned. They did much better than I expected!

Congratulations Fluffagrams and Vectis. Fantastic results. I still don't get things quite right I know but does the 3rd grand challenge for Vectis's Julius mean that the man ham in question is now a Champion? I know 3 need to be won but is that Certificates of Merit or Challenges?
