It's a bit of a catch-22 situation -- the shows are where there are members to organise them, which sometimes ends up meaning that no one organises shows in the areas where there are no members, and so no new members from those areas join up! It's an awkward one though, especially if no one knows if a show in a new location would be well received by the locals, or well attended by the current members.

For example, the Burnley show up in Lancashire was a new show last year, and it was a real success, so it was decided to hold a show there this year. If it hadn't been a success, then the northern club would be less inclined to have a show there again.
