Re: syrian show pens.
Usually someone in one of the the clubs makes them, but he's not been able to for a while I believe, so they're becoming rather in short supply! I bought two second hand ones for £7.50 each, I think the new ones might have cost £10, but I am not sure.
However, the specifications for the show pens are in the NHC handbook, which can be downloaded here, so if you are a handy person or know someone who is, you can make them yourself. (Unfortunately I am not, otherwise I would have made my own a long time ago.)

Re: syrian show pens.
If you're asking for the hamster shows you're setting up in Northern Ireland rather than for showing at shows in England/Wales then perhaps you could choose to use plastic tanks of a standard type/brand instead, like they use on the continent and at gerbil shows? That way it saves having to order, wait for and import show pens (and saves having to repaint show pens!).
Perhaps something like this? Ferplast Geo Fish Tank, Large, 30 x 20 x 20.3 cm, 6 Liter, Blue: Amazon.co.uk: Pet Supplies (or a smaller version is available)

Re: syrian show pens.
The BHA (British Hamster Association) which disbanded a number of years ago used to show in the Hagen type plastic tanks that Vectis linked to.
If you were to set up a club and hold shows you could choose the type of standard show pen you would ask entrants to show in and that would enable you to use those. It would go in your consituation. You could still adopt to judge to NHC standards.
In the future if you decided to apply to affiliate to the NHC you would then need to start using the show pens the use.

Hi, what about this from pets at home for £6? This one is small though they come in a range of sizes. Would also be easy to keep clean.

It would have to be something that is readily available to competitors and they all need to be identical. I think they had to be white lids for the BHA shows.
If I recall correctly it was this style they used
Exo Terra Faunariums - temporary reptile homes | Swell Reptiles

I'd imagine that would up to your committee and members would it not?
It is a lot of work setting up a club and making sure the rules and regulations as well as the constitution is fair and acceptable to all as well as being roughly in line with other countries.

Re: syrian show pens.
You could maybe contact some of the clubs in England such as the northern or southern hamster clubs to see where they source or if anyone makes them?

If the club wants to go to the NHC it will be without me ! But that's a long way in the future, there's nothing set up yet, I think we need to take it one step at a time.
Thanks for all your suggestions guys, I will definitely look into what you have said.

Re: syrian show pens.
Just one other thing, are the wire fronts for the show pens made by the same person that makes the pens ?
