Well today was a lovely day and my first judging single handed since passing my judging qualification last year. Thanks to Jean for book stewarding (and moral support as well as her big whip to keep me moving!) and Will for his great handling of the pens on his first pen stewarding (and the fabulous T shirt which made me smile) There were 95 hamsters to judge including a lot of young hamsters today who I'm sure will make their mark in the future and nice to see the breeding season is obviously in full swing again. Congratulations to everyone who did so well and to Cathy, Sue and Fiona on a beautifully run show with some tasty breakfast and lunch treats for us - thank you x My highlights were seeing BIS Junior go to Allanbrookes Primary School pet Hamster. I think there will be some very happy pupils on Monday and they should rightly be very proud. BIS was a stunning Tristar owned, Wyeside bred, huge and cuddly BEC with a coat to die for. Congratulation to both of you on producing such a lovely lad. I was surprised when Jean told me he was the son of my very first BIS winner 2 years ago. I think I must like the type consistently anyway! I think this is nearly him a Grand Champion now. A beautiful hamster.
For our own results - at last Boblet came home and did us proud at his first show with a 4th Chinese Dominant Spot, 2nd Young Adult, 4th Young stock and he's only an ickly baby! We love him and many thinks to Vectis for allowing him to come to us at Custard x
I only have a few pics and sorry but they are mostly me as I gave George the camera and said take some pics... so he did..of ME!
BIS - he didn't want woken up!
It was nice to be welcomed home by my loving dog and a Mojito and even a sunny relax on the patio tonight. Thanks BigD x
