best class for a ham new to showing to be in
as athena has just had a litter and im hoping to keep one or two what would be the best class to start the two i keeps showing carrer in i was thinking of putting them into pets at first what do you guys think

i don't think you'd need to start them in pets, i'd just stick them in the main show, chinese normals.

Yes I'd go straight to main show. Once they are hand tamed you can start trying them on a judging mesh and giving them a short go in the show pen and teaching them to climb on to the mesh and be easy to handle. You won't get any idea how your breeding is going unless you put them in main show for judging against other chinese. I think they need to be 10 weeks for entry.

They are supposed to be 10 weeks for entry into the main show and young stock class - however a few breeders do enter them slightly younger if they are large, healthy and not stressy. One of them told me this and I'll admit I did enter Toby into non-standard at 9 weeks - and he came second :P

Midland and Southern Clubs only have young stock in Syrian.
