Default Mapplewell Show

Well, we just got home from the Mapplewell show, and we had a great day! Firstly...

BINGLEY GOT BEST IN SHOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's my first ever BIS!!! He also won Junior BIS, Sapphire WW, Dwarf Novice, Grand challenge and Junior. Not bad for a 16 week old hammy at his second show!!! The others did really well too ~ Kipton won Pearl, got second in Junior and 3rd in Novice. Pawsy did well and came 3rd in Satin and 3rd in Junior Syrian, but poor Red got nothing, though there were 15 LH creams, and she came in about 6th with a good score! We were very pleased with little Napoleon, who got 4th in LH Satin, which was ALL LH creams!!!

Also, Jane, you were correct, the local ITV Calendar news crew came to the show, as Souf (being the Public Relations Officer) had emailed them a few weeks ago. However we got no reply so thought they weren't coming. They did though, and Souf and I were interviewed. Our hamster Sonni also starred as the 'Racing ham'!!! She's famous! Even though she has never done well in shows she's the only ham that has appeared on TV, and so has now added 'Superstar Oscar' to her name! Holly's son Will also appeared on TV, and quite a few of our members are in the crowd. I will try and get it transferred onto a link for you all to see! Also our president Dickie Bird of cricketting fame came and made presentations. He was also on the TV.

Phew! What a day, but here are a few pics of the day for you!

Christmas card making (Santa gets younger each year! ) ~ also thanks to Rosie (Spud's Mum's daughter) for her help

Me being interviewed!

Racing

Certificate winners with Dickie Bird

Me getting my BIS (!!!)

Congrats to everyone who entered and won, all the hams were gorgeous. Also well done to Tristar (Syrian BIS) and Sue Mutlow (Syrian BOS) .

Well done Pophammy!
You getting BIS got me into trouble with Ken though!!!
As you walked round with Fraser I could see you smiling realising you had won BIS and so I gave you a beaming smile to say well done (and winked I think).......
Ken thought I was flirting or trying to bribe Fraser he made it very clear that Fraser has a lovely partner (which is just as well seeing as my own lovely partner was not 6 feet away at the time

Both of your dwarf guys are really beautiful, as are all your Syrian Custards.
Well done Bingley (and Kipton), Pawsy and also Poly who is a gorgeous wee guy.

Poor Red is still a beauty to me, and I may have to ask for Sonni's autograph seeing as she is now a TV star!

Well done Pophammy and Bingley and everyone else who did well

We got a second (our highest ever main class place) for Toby in Non Standard and our own babes did good too - Smartie was our best with a third in LH Satin. We also got third novice and reserve Breeder (which I find astounding ).

Congrats also to Teresa, Butterbean and Dubs who did well - I believe Butterbean got third in LH Cream, Teresa? All the better as it was a massive class of 15!

All in all a very enjoyable day with fab food and good company

Yes, Butterbean did wonderfully well getting a third in LH cream and winning me 2nd place in novice.
Smartie was snapping at Dubaku's heels, as dubs got a wonderful 2nd place in LH satin.

There were smiling faces all round for Pophammy, Holly and I.

I did have a pang for poor Bunsey's Paddy though. He lost out to Pophammy's Bingley although they had the same points (I think Bingley had a +). But he is stunning none the less! so near and yet so far for Paddy

Indeed yes he is a gorgeous hamster and Bingley just took it on the + from the judge. Well done to Paddy who was in fact Reserve Best Dwarf in Show. Napoleon was just half a point behind his sister so all our babies did well at the show. It was a great day and I am shattered, more so by the appearance of the TV crew who threw me off balance! And I do look silly in that film

nooo you were great. And doing a cracking start at the PR job!
I think anyone feels very uncomfortable watching and listening to themselves or even seeing themselves on a photo!

Well done you (I'd ask for your autographs too, but now you are a celebrity I daren't - will make do with the Christmas card from three reality TV stars - you PH and Sonni)
