Default Looking to rehome my 2 Syrian Hamsters - Sunderland

Location: Sunderland Northeast England
Kind of hamster(s): 2 X Syrian
Hamster age(s): approximately 1 year and the other unknown
Reason they were abandoned /require rehoming? immigration abroad
Any health problems/special needs? No
Any behavioral problems? No

Type of household hamster would best be suited to: Lucy was adopted by us so if she is adopted again she would need extra attention and Clovis is energetic. No restrictions as long as they go to a loving home.

Hi Everybody,

I am new to this forum and need some advice on how get my two Syrian hamsters adopted. We have one that we adopted last year called Lucy from Pets at Home. She looked fully grown but we where unable to tell how old she was and the assistant at Pets at Home was unable to tell us her age either. We also have another male Syrian hamster called Clovis and we bought him when he was a pup. He is probably about a year old by now.

My husband and I recently decided to immigrate to the United States from the UK and while I know that you can take hamsters to the US the quarantine and long haul flight wouldn't be fair on our little guys.

We are looking to immigrate as late a November this year. I have two questions.

1. If we took our hamsters to Pets at Home so they can get them adopted, would they take hamsters who are elderly or would they go down the rough route of euthanasia.....because if they do euthanize them at a certain age we would not want to take them there because we want them to go to loving homes.

2. If anyone is interested in adopting our two little guys please respond to this post.

This is a pretty hard post to make so apologies for my lack of good typing

Hi there - Please can you fill out this template to see if any of our members can help with your situation.

It does sound like you are thinking of the hamsters and not putting them through the trauma of a flight abroad.
Can you give us your area please.
