Poppets fur
hi, is it normal for a hamsters fur to thin, Poppets fur on her back and tummy is thinning. it grew back but then started thinning again.. she's 18 mnths old if this helps...

I think it is just an age thing, I don't think there is anything to worry about

Yeah it does thin with age, I am sure that there are foods that you can feed to help it grow but I cant remember what they are!! Grrr!! Perhaps someone else will know.

Lack of protein can cause a bit of hair loss, so things like cooked chicken and scrambled/boiled egg help
Check the protein content in the hamster mix too, should be about 16%

My ham was really thin on the top of his head but its grown back really well atm - which i thought was odd and hes around the same age as your ham so im guessing this is normal
