Hi dear ,its nice to hear that he's a bit active but even sad at the same moment as he's not gaining weight. We actually dont know what's going inside and we're judging on what we are able to see. If you have pumpkin seeds ,try boiling it until partially soft then mash it and give it to him. You can try giving him protein rich foods in mashed form or safe baby food. The eye cream is absolutely fine ,its basically for conjunctivitis (I mentioned this case earlier) the antibiotics and everything prescribed is right acc to the situation but still he's not responding is a issue. I want to ask if there is some improvement in the appearance of eye? Do you notice any discharge or is he able to open it? But anyways I want you to relax so that there's no 'negative vibes' approaching him ! And believe in him and I hope he'll make it. Seeing your hamster in such condition is really disturbing I know it very well but we have to keep a faith.

Hey Miko, thanks again for your support <3

So tonight Moss' eye does look slightly better - the skin is scabbed over but his actual eyeball is less droopy thank goodness.
He has been drinking his water with the probiotic in it, and just tonight I have managed to get some Emeraid omnivore which he has actually taken well from the syringe. I'm trying not to get my hopes up about this, but am really glad he has taken it. He has never lost his appetite though, still eating!

The worst thing now is that he's got this situation going on with his bottom and tail I'm worried it is wet tail, but it doesn't smell, he is still eating and is still very active. I think it could be a UTI?

I've got him another appointment with another vet tomorrow, hoping maybe they prescribe another type of antibiotic as Baytril doesn't seem to be working.

Sigh.
I'm sorry to update that this morning we had Moss pts.
Took him to the vet for what we hoped was a different antibiotic but he was so weak and sad, was wobbly and barely walking. The vet didn't give a hopeful prognosis.
We are absolutely devastated and heartbroken.

We have only had Moss less than 2 months, and 2 weeks of that we were away and another 2 weeks he's been sick and on meds. Poor guy.
All I can hope is that he knew he was loved and that we really tried our best for him in every regard. Love you, Moss <3

I'm truly sorry for your loss. I'm sure your hamster had a wonderful life and he cherished all the love you gave him. Remember the happy moments with your fluffy friend. Play well at the bridge, Moss. <3

Literally I felt so bad after hearing this news, even after owning 7 hamsters I still cant overcome such kind of loss. I personally felt that he would make it but life is not in our hands, as the vet was not exotic maybe he couldn't tell you the root cause or the exact infection. Moss's bottom looked like that bcoz when he peed, he probably didnt clean it and during this stage hamsters are so weak to do that resulting in dirty bottom. I hope you're fine and Fly high little moss, you'll be loved always ❤
