Concerned for my Dwarf Hamster.

My hamster has had this on his behind for a few month now, its a dwarf roberovski hamster, his name is bisquit. does anybody have any idea of what it could be? i have another dwarf roberovski hamster who does not have it. they're both males

no i dont keep both hamsters in the same cage because they started fighting when they was 11 month old

I thought that maybe the other hamster had attacked Bisquit at his backend and pulled his fur out but that's not the case then.

Is Bisquit overgrooming or scratching his backend a lot and pulling the fur out himself which could be stress related?

To be honest, if that were my hamster i would have had him checked out by a vet by now.

The only reason i havent had him checked over by a vet is because he isnt showing any signs of pain or distress.

It could be a number of things. If possible I would get him to a vet.

Are you sure he isn't showing signs of pain or distress? Is he eating / drinking / playing normally, and sleeping roughly the same number of hours as usual? In the photo (what an absolutely gorgeous ham, by the way!) the ears look a little pressed back, and that is a definite sign that he's not comfortable. It looks more like a lump than missing fur caused by over-grooming. Are you able to get a vet to look at him?

Sometimes you just won't see obvious signs of pain or distress in hamsters and prey animals in general. They're really good at hiding these things because in the wild it would be signs of weakness and ultimately make them easier targets.

I would just take him to the vet anyways even without obvious signs of pain or distress. Something is definitely off there and it needs professional attention. At best all we can do on the forum is give guesses.
