With metacam, it can be quite harsh and cause stomach upsets too. It is always hard but I'd be considering her quality of life after you have had a chat with the more specialised vet. I don't mean to come over harsh at all, having rats they get a common thing called hind leg degeneration and they can be totally well but the extra energy, not being able to get around like they should does take its toll. Some I let go sooner than others, you get that feeling in your gut to "know".

Keep us posted and good luck x
Thank u so much.

So you'll need to remove any levels or anything they could climb onto and add toys/tunnels at ground level so there is more enrichment at ground level. I'd also move her food bowl and water bottle closer to her house so she doesn't have to struggle to get at them. Did she have a fall or did the back leg paralysis just start on its own? There can be a number of causes - a spinal injury can cause it if they have a fall, or it can be muscular related in old age.
I forgot to ask you how old your hams were when they lost use of legs? If u remember?

Final post on this thread. Gracie is still doing great. All other symptoms went away except for the use of legs. We took her a pocket pet expert and they x-rayed her. They found a tumor on her left side. Pretty big actually and the Vet was surprised she was doing as good as she is. But anyway, the vet advised against surgery because of her age and said just to love her and make sure she is comfortable. So that's what we have been doing. She is basically back to normal. Eats and drinks ok. Goes to bathroom as usual. Wakes up around 8-9pm and we let her out to forage and build nests in her room. So all is good for now. Thanks everyone for advice and help. I have video of her moving around but don't know how to upload.
