Yes, that don't like it but are more likely to pee when stressed. I'd keep him in the box for up to five minutes and if he hasn't peed by then try another time. I used a tupperware box high enough not to be able to climb out.

Thank you for the advice! I will try this next time I see him awake his nose seems to be doing a lot better, his antibiotics seem to have worked well enough or it cleared on its own (I also gently cleaned his nose with warm salt-water to help him loosen the crusty bits, and I think this did improve things a bit).

That's good to hear that his nose is getting better.

As for diabetes. You would probably have suspected something because they drink a lot, scratch more and their pee smells stronger.
