Default Trimming Hamster Nails

My winter white hybrid hamster Ace has quite long nails and I was wanting to trim them somehow. Unfortunately, she is very wriggly and refuses to sit still and whenever I try, she exhibits signs of stress. My vet also won't trim them because of covid.
I've tried putting rocks in her cage to try and wear them down but nothing seems to be working. I was wondering if anyone has any advice? They do not seem to be causing her any discomfort at the moment but I do not want it to get to that point.

It is tricky, if your ham is very wriggly it’s probably best to just do one or two at a time, I’ve never tried it but some people put the ham in a sieve so the nails poke through to trim them safely, you could try swaddling her in a towel, might make it a little easier to hold her still.
Rocks in the cage don’t really work, a sand bath can help to keep them trim & other rough surfaces like wood or granite (not stones but tiles like the chinchilla cooling tiles) but once they’ve got a bit overgrown nothing will wear them down really.

A few methods i've tried

Letting them sit and eat some yoghurt and clip a few while they are stationary

I put my syrian on top of a metal mesh lid, poked a carrot up through and trimmed the nails from beneath! A few sessions

I find embroidary scissors better than clippers as you can get in from more angles

I know silent runner wheels sell tracks you can put into their wheels with slightly rough surfaces on if you can get a hold of one. If they have a sand bath too digging around in there helps that keeps my hams claws very trim. Maybe put a snack in there to encourage them to walk around in it?

Unfortunately the tracks that have sandpaper and such for trimming nails just aren't safe. Any sort of unattended access to sandpaper can end up leading to injury etc - stick with sand baths and very careful nail trimming!

Thanks for all the tips! Ace does have a sand bath which she adores using, but to no effect. I'll try some of these suggestions though
