Exclamation hamster starvation symptoms?

hey, im really embarrassed to be making this post, but i was out of the house for about 5 days and i wasnt able to take my sweet baby with me, i told my mother to care for him and when i came back i found that she did not feed him at all while i was gone, when i came home to him he was shaking. he is not cold, doesnt have a runny nose, his coat isnt ruffled or anything but he was shaking and felt lighter, also his testicles have receded into his body.
i immediately held and started petting him and let him eat out of my palm, he ate quite a bit and then stuff his cheeks full when i put him back in his cage with a full bowl.

i got him in april/may of 2019 so he is not very old, im not sure how long hamsters can go without eating, but will he be ok? he went to burrow the food and is currently digging under his bedding

Hello

If he has started to eat and burying I'd say he will be ok. It is more lack of water that can be damaging, did he still have plenty of water?

He may be a little cold, im sure he'd appreciate some boiled egg and lots of cuddles over the next few days.

Perhaps if you are going away again in the furture, phone your mum daily to remind or ask a friend to take care of him to avoid things like this happening again
