Hamster has poop stuck in fur
I noticed today my dwarf hamster had poop matted into his fur. It doesnt seem like diarrhoea but Im not able to wipe it off and he wont stay still long enough for me to do much about it. Should I just leave it for him to get off or is there another way to remove it?

Re: Hamster has poop stuck in fur
I would leave it a day or so. He’ll probably get it off when he’s grooming. His fur shouldn’t be matted really - has he pee’d in his nest possibly? Poops often get stuck on them. If you mean it’s stuck on his backside area then if it’s still there in a day or so I would pick it off. If it’s well and truly stuck in the fur then maybe dab with a damp cotton bud to release it.
