Uh oh, so to avoid stress and taking him out of his cage, I have not been opening his eyes as he is able to go around just fine with them closed, but now his right eye is really, really swollen and sticking out a lot more than his left. It’s like a huge bulge. What should I do?

I think you need to see a vet urgently Ttiger. The eye could rupture and it is likely very painful. Please try and get in touch with one very soon and at least do a telephone consultation, send a pic and they will say if they need him brought it.

After taking a trip to the vet they found some more problems including a mass around his throat, and we decided it would be better to just peacefully end the suffering. We made a really nice grave to put him in and that’s where he’s resting now . Thank you to everyone for the support and advice.

I'm so sorry for your loss. He had a long and happy life and you gave him peace from his illness when he needed it. Run free at the bridge little one x

He's had a long life full of love and will leave you with lots of happy memories. It's a hard decision to make, but the ultimate last act of love.

So sorry for your loss.
