Possible breathing issues and old age problems
Hey everyone, Wallace is around 2 years 5 months old. Last night I noticed he was making some squeaking noises when as he breathed when I first picked him up, but as he settled for a nap they seemed to stop. The same thing happened when I checked on him this morning. He also sneezed a few times. Am I right in thinking this sounds like a respiratory infection? There is no discharge and he isn't anymore lathargic than normal.
That being said, I've noticed a decline in his general health over the last 6 weeks - he's quite wobbly and has lost a fair bit of strength, and his eyelids keep getting stuck together. He's eating still, but he's no longer interested in his whimzee chews and likewise I think he's eating a bit less. I know this is all pretty standard for an older ham, and he's still pottering about, but I also know the end can't be far off.
I'm going to give the vet a call today - I just wanted to hear your takes.
edit: vet call is going to have to wait due to personal issues. I'll keep a close eye on him until I'm able to make the call.
