Hamster has huge lump on his back! Help!
Hello everyone,
I'm new here. This is my first hamster ever, Gus. He is really sweet and almost 2 years old. He has a LARGE bump on his back and its hardish when you touch it. It is beginning to affect his right ear and where it sits on his head. I'm not sure if it is cancer or an infection?? Does anybody have any idea what this is?
PLEASE HELP. I pray he is not suffering or in any pain!! I'm scared.

That looks like an abscess. Can you get him to a vet for treatment. It really needs lanced and drained then treated with antibiotics. A vet can diagnose if it is that or in fact a tumour. If it was a tumour then it would be best to give him peaceful rest. Most vets are still open and you wait outside while they are examined and treated so ring round.
