Default HELP!!! Is this normal for his scent glands??

My boy Snail is nearly 2 and has been struggling with his health recently, excessive scratching, signs of a neurological condition, excessively drinking. And I was almost certain it was something mental that he was struggling with but his scent gland looks like this and I cant tell if it is normal or not but I dont think it is and its never looked like this before. Am i going crazy or should i try and get him into the vet for an emergency https://twitter.com/dirkaaaaaa/statu...534706689?s=21

They can get greasy with scent like that underneath and it doesn't look severe. Try bathing it a couple of times a day with some saline solution. Put a pint of boiled water with a teaspoon of salt in it in the fridge to cool then use a cotton ball to wipe it. Some stuff may ooze out but keep cleaning it anyway and see if it improves in a few days. See a vet if you feel it is swollen or oozing pus or very red.
