Tumor?
So I was sitting with Buttercup the other day, watching her run around my closet (its a walk in closet I use when she wants out of her cage). I realized she was walking a bit oddly so I checked her over and didn't find anything. I weighed her as well, but she was fine. I didn't figure there was anything wrong, but I made sure to keep an eye on her. Just last night I saw her itching and biting her leg a lot. So I picked her up and I saw something on her back left leg. It's all swollen and looks like some sort of tumor. I freaked out, but it was almost 2 in the morning so I couldn't really do anything.. She's still eating and drinking, but we're calling a vet today. I don't think they're an exotic vet though, do you know of any exotic vets that are still open in the bay area?

Re: Tumor?
Sorry to hear you've found this problem L1ttlePaws, I hope it doesn't turn out to be anything too serious, it's possible it could be an injury rather than a tumour but whatever it is I hope you can find a vet to help her.

Re: Tumor?
We found a vet, but they're saying that they only take emergency cases. I'm just going to wait for a day or two to see if she gets worse and if she does they said we could bring her in.

Re: Tumor?
Here is an exitic animal vet in the Bay Area... It is always preferable to take hamsters to avian and exotic vets as regular vets in general do not have much experience with hamsters and this can be crucial in diagnosing and treating the illness or injury correctly.
I hope Buttercup is ok.
